Kayla Harrison Geared Up To Prove Worth To Dana White

Two-time PFL women’s lightweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison says that she will prove her worth to UFC president Dana White if the opportunity ever comes her way.

Harrison, 31, has repeatedly been dubbed one of the best women MMA athletes at the moment and by no means, she has earned that status in an easy way.

Reflecting on the speculations made in the media, Harrison acknowledged that she has a point to prove to the UFC president and she is very much confident in her abilities that she can be a massive hit if given the opportunity in the world’s premier MMA promotion.

“Dana has said a lot of things before. It’s my job. If I want to fight in the UFC someday, if I want to fight at featherweight for the UFC someday, then it’s my job to prove to him that I’m worth the investment and I’m worth the risk,” Harrison said.

The American judoka has maintained a perfect MMA record since making her debut in 2018 and is looking for a new challenge as her contract with the PFL expired following her latest tournament win against Taylor Guardado last month.

It was Harrison’s second consecutive title triumph at women’s 155 lbs division.

So far, the 31-year-old has navigated her way to the top of women’s MMA without facing any adversary.

And now with her being a free agent, there has been a lot of discussion regarding her possible future destination.

Previously, Harrison and her team have been receiving interest from the likes of Bellator MMA and the WWE but she is yet to make a decision.

Many MMA pundits believe that the UFC should be an ideal place for Harrison to prove that she is no fluke.

The fight against Amanda Nunes, who is also regarded as the GOAT of women’s MMA, will attract a massive audience.

And if Harrison is able to pull off a win against Nunes, it will surely put her in the bracket of the greatest combat athlete to ever step in a fighting ring.

“All I can do is to continue to go out there and be so dominant and continue be so good that you can’t ignore me. I know that I’ll do that. He says a lot of stuff and I know that I’m going to make him eat his words and he’ll smile when he does it and it will be great. I’m not worried about it. That time is coming.”
