Kayla Harrison Might Be Leaving PFL

Kayla Harrison says she wants big fights for 2023.

Harrison is now preparing for the fight against Martina Jindrova, which will be held on August 20, but she mentioned several times that she is open to fighting with Bellator legend and former UFC champion Cris Cyborg or former double champion Amanda Nunes.

“I think that going through this season especially, there’s been some other stuff behind the scenes going on,” Harrison said.

“But I think 16 fights in, it’ll be time to maybe start [looking at other options]… I want the big fights.”

Harrison’s admission occurs as the PFL prepares to undergo significant upheaval over the next few years. Harrison was anticipated to play a significant role in the division’s pay-per-view super fights, which are scheduled to debut in 2023.

Prior to the PFL matching an offer, Harrison came very close to signing with Bellator during her free agency. Before Nunes lost to Julianna Pea at UFC 269, she was in discussions with the UFC about a prospective showdown with Nunes.

“… It’s not about money, it’s about legacy and it’s about testing myself against the best. So I think this would probably be my last season,” Harrison added.
