Kayla Harrison Responds To Dana White Questioning If She’s Ready For UFC

Kayla Harrison has given her response to UFC President Dana White calling into question whether or not she’s ready for the UFC.

Harrison is the 2019 PFL Women’s Lightweight Champion. She is a heavy favorite to take the gold in 2021. Harrison has said that her goal is to become the best female fighter on the planet but White isn’t sold that the Judo Olympic gold medalist is prepared for the bright lights of the UFC.

During an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Harrison said what’s really at play is whether or not White is willing to open up the checkbook (h/t MMAJunkie.com).

“I think that if Dana is ready to pay me a lot of money, I’ll make him a lot of money. I have stated many times, I’m ready to face the best in the world.”

Harrison has said she wants to fight the toughest competition but she admits she doesn’t have control over the situation.

“I don’t get to pick who I fight. It’s not like I can create this super promotion of all these badass women and say ‘fight me.’ I can control what I can control, and that’s my performance. It is what it is.”

Harrison is coming off a first-round TKO victory over Mariana Morais at PFL 3.
