Kazakhstani UFC Prospect Mariya Agapova Back In Action In August
The UFC is looking to showcase its rising talent any way it can. That includes multiple fights to improve their craft.
Following a short-notice bout earlier this month, Mariya Agapova will be fighting once again before the summer is over. According to MMA Fighting, the Kazakhstan-born fighter will be competing against Shana Dobson on August 22.
One of the top prospects in MMA, Agapova (9-1) made her UFC debut on June 13, beating Hannah Cifers via submission. Only needing one round to do so, the 23-year-old earned her first Performance of the Night bonus. Agapova had a stint on Dana White’s Contender Series last summer and would then win two fights with Invicta FC.
Dobson (3-4) made her UFC debut in 2017, beating Ariel Beck in The Ultimate Fighter Finale. Since then she has gone on a three-fight losing streak. “Danger’s” last fight was a knockout loss at the hands of Priscila Cachoeira back in February.
The event on August 22 is expected to take place inside the United States. As of now, there is no main event set.
