Keith Thurman Hits Back At Tim Bradley For Money Remarks

Keith Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) is not happy after listening to what former boxer Timothy Bradley had to say about him on his return to the ring against Mario Barrios (26-1, 17 KOs) on February 5.

Bradley, now only a boxing commentator, said that Thurman was only coming back for the money like a mercenary. This did not sit well with the former WBA/WBC welterweight champion.

Speaking on The Last Stand Podcast, Thurman explained that he felt odd about Bradley’s remarks given that he neither knows him personally nor has he ever met him.

“Tim Bradley doesn’t know anything about Keith Thurman. Tim Bradley has never been to Florida. He has never been to my side of town, and we never talked person to person,” Thurman said.

“I don’t take his words to heart. Mercenary, of course. I want to come in and drop bombs, so part of his statement might have some facts to it.”

Thurman has claimed time and again that he wants to be as active as he can be from 2022. He last fought against Manny Pacquiao in 2019, suffering his career’s sole loss to the Pacman.

“I’m telling you this is what I do. I was one-handed fighting Manny Pacquiao, and it was still one of the most exciting fights of the year. I hear a lot of background noise, but I don’t take it into my heart,” he continued.
