Keith Thurman Looking Ahead To Fight Errol Spence-Yordenis Ugas Winner
Keith Thurman isn’t thinking much about his fight on Saturday against Mario Barrios.
Instead, he’s thinking ahead, and is targeting the winner of the Errol Spence Jr vs Yordenis Ugas fight, which is slated for April.
“The [Spence vs. Ugas] winner is going to have all the belts [3 of the four at 147]. To be in the ring with Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman, I just bring excitement in the ring,” Thurman said.
Some fans have been hesitant to be excited for Thurman’s return, especially after a nearly two-year layoff.
In his last fight, he lost by split-decision to now-retired legend Manny Pacquiao, relinquishing his WBA super world welterweight title.
Spence reportedly revealed his dislike for Thurman. When asked about it, Thurman responded at the time: “In my lack of acknowledging him (several years ago), I was busy getting better fights.”
Thurman will face Barrios on Saturday in a 12-round welterweight matchup in Las Vegas. This will be Barrios’ debut at welterweight.
