Keith Thurman Sets High Expectations As Bob Arum Wants Bivol To Set His Sights On Canelo Alternatives
Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) will be fighting Jarron Enis (29-0, 27 KOs) next for one of the vacant welterweight titles.
The American boxer may not be the clear favorite against the 24-year-old Enis, but it will be a good test for him.
If Thurman is able to face Ennis while still being in green, he will have the chance to regain his throne as the No. 1 welterweight. The rankings will be updated once Spence and Crawford leave the division.
Speaking about the top rankings, the top-rank promoter Bob Arum says that it is time for Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) to look beyond Canelo Alvarez. He wants to see the Russian set his sights on Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez.
Ramirez is coming from a big win over Dominic Bossel in a WBA 175-lb title eliminator. If the fight is announced between Bivol and Ramirez, it will create a huge hype among the fans.
Apparently, the Russian doesn’t have any desire to fight the winner between 175-lb champions Artur Beterbiev and Joe Smith Jr. Bob Arum, the rank promoter, says that the 31-year-old fights on DAZN, whereas his fighters Beterbiev and Smith are with ESPN.
Arum doesn’t want those fighters to fight on the DAZN platform.
