Kelleher To Get Quick Turnaround Bout Against Stamann At UFC 250

After two weeks away from the cage, a fresh Brian Kelleher is looking to increase his momentum. The 33-year-old will be fighting Cody Stamann at UFC 250 on June 6. MMA Junkie confirmed the report of the fight following the initial announcement via BJPenn.com.

Kelleher is coming off of a UFC on ESPN+ 29 win against Hunter Aure on May 13. It was a second-round knockout shot that dropped Azure to the floor. Kelleher is on a two-fight win streak, both wins coming in 2020. After not fighting since December 2018, Kelleher returned to action at UFC 246 in January, submitting Ode Osbourne.

Stamann (18-2-1), ranked 12th in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings, is coming off of a majority decision draw against Song Yadong back in December. He is 1-1-1 in his last three, his last win coming against Alejandro Perez at UFC 235 in March 2019. The 30-year-old was supposed to face Raoni Barcelos back in March, but the fight was postponed due to the coronavirus.

The bout will be a featherweight matchup, compared to when the two normally fight at bantamweight.
