Keri Melendez Out of Bellator 180

Bellator has lost a high-profile female fight to its Madison Square Garden debut, as Keri Melendez is out of her fight with Sadee Monserrate Williams at Bellator 180 on June 24.

Melendez was forced to pull out due to an undisclosed injury, MMA Fighting reported on Monday.

Melendez vs. Williams had been set for the Bellator 180 portion of the card, which takes place before the "Bellator: NYC" pay-per-view portion.

To compensate, Bellator is moving the popular female boxer Heather Hardy’s mixed-martial-arts debut against Alice Yauger to the Bellator 180 portion of the event.

Melendez (1-0), the wife of UFC standout Gilbert Melendez, won her MMA debut by 47-second knockout last November.

The Bellator 180 portion of the card is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between Phil Davis and Ryan Bader.
