Khabib Nurmagomedov Nearly ‘Attacked’ In Russia
Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was attacked by a random person in Russia, and it’s unclear why.
The attack follows Nurmagomedov’s comment about ring girls. The retired MMA fighter said he thinks they are the “most useless people” in martial arts.
“Look, I done don’t want to offend anyone… I realize that is a history (behind ring card girls). History knows many mistakes. We read history to avoid past mistakes in the future; we look in the history; it says they are useless. That is my personal opinion. Dana White maybe likes it. Perhaps you do, too. But my name is not Dana. My name is Khabib,” he said.
Some reports say it was a fan who attacked Nurmagomedov, but the intentions remain unclear.
How stupid does someone have to be to try and attack Khabib? Scumbag move, especially when he’s clearly limping away pic.twitter.com/HlrsdP4Wl0

No one was seriously hurt.
Nurmagomedov retired almost one year ago.
The last time he fought in the octagon was against American fighter Justin Gaethje. For him, it was the first preparation camp and the first fight without his coach and his father.
He retired as an undefeated and undisputed UFC lightweight champion, and UFC put him as the number one pound-for-pound fighter.
In his professional MMA career, he earned 29 victories, and in the UFC, he made 13 victories. He defended his title three times against the notorious Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier and Gaethje.
