Khabib Nurmagomedov Teases Negotiations With UFC President Dana White
UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov may end up holding off on retirement.
Nurmagomedov was last seen in action back in October. He put the UFC 155-pound gold on the line against Justin Gaethje. Nurmagomedov turned in a stellar performance, submitting Gaethje in the second round via triangle choke.
After the fight, Nurmagomedov took his gloves off and announced his retirement. “The Eagle” cited his mother’s wish to stop competing after the loss of his father, Abdulmanap. Nurmagomedov has not removed himself from the USADA testing pool and he has yet to vacate the lightweight title.
Taking to his Instagram account, Nurmagomedov teased having a meeting with White in the near future.

Up to this point, Nurmagomedov has a perfect pro MMA record of 29-0. Before his passing, Abdulmanap’s wish was for Khabib to retire at 30-0. Nurmagomedov has said that one bout that would motivate him is a showdown with Georges St-Pierre. “Rush” has gone back-and-forth on whether or not he’s willing to come out of retirement but he’s always expressed interest in fighting Nurmagomedov.
