Khabib: Title Shot or I Leave UFC
Before the Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor bout was announced for UFC 205, No. 1-ranked Khabib Nurmagomedov had supposedly been promised a shot at Alvarez and the UFC lightweight championship. Nurmagomedov was fine with the title bout taking place at either UFC 205 or UFC 206, but Alvarez never signed off on the bout.
Nurmagomedov faced Michael Johnson on the preliminary card of last Saturday night’s UFC 205 card, picking up a win in dominating fashion. During the bout, it turned out he had been yelling comments at Johnson and UFC President Dana White.
Nurmagomedov, after his win over Johnson, launched a rant against McGregor and the UFC. Back when the Alvarez-McGregor bout was first announced, Nurmagomedov threatened to show UFC his "true power." Now, he’s reminding and re-emphasizing his promise — his next fight better be for a title, or he is leaving the promotion.
I want to fight for @ufc title for respect but if I don’t get my title shot next I have different plan I won’t be fighting in UFC @danawhite
