Khabib’s Father Claims Son Wants Ferguson

Even though Dana White has no intentions to ever book a Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov for the fifth time, after four cancellations, Nurmagomedov’s father claims his son wants it.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov claimed in a new interview that once the former interim UFC lightweight champion has recovered from injury, they will demand a fight.

“As long as Ferguson is able to walk, we’ll demand this fight,” the coach told TASS on Monday.

“We’re ready to fight with him any time and under any circumstances. We’re wishing him to get well, and waiting for him,” he added.

When asked about Max Holloway, the current featherweight champion, the elder Nurmagomedov was very complementary.

“He’s a very dangerous opponent, who dropped Jose Aldo in his last bout. He’s very fast and a smart fighter, so this is going to be a very interesting fight. I think Holloway is not any less interesting than Ferguson.”

White confirmed following the change of main event for UFC 223, that Ferguson will now lose his interim championship title, and the winner of Nurmagomedov-Holloway will be the undisputed lightweight champion.
