Khalil Rountree Shares Emotional Post-Fight Speech Following UFC Vegas 50 Win

Khalil Rountree was once 300 pounds as a child and felt there was no reason to live.

Today, however, Rountree has punched his sixth win under the UFC banner with a vicious second-round TKO over Karl Roberson on the main card of UFC Vegas 50. The win also marked his 11th career MMA win.

After the victory, Rountree sent a powerful message during a post-fight interview with Paul Felder to anyone struggling with depression, a situation he once found himself in.

The emotions continued during the post-fight press conference when he shed some tears after sharing what he would say to the past version of himself.

“It might sound a bit cliche or we’ve heard this before but your life matters,” Rountree said.

“Your life matters, you can be special, you can be strong, you can be seen, you can be heard. Life is beautiful if you make it that way. It doesn’t have to be how everybody else makes it seem. Stick around, stick around another day. I would have a lot of things like that to say, man.”

Rountree has now won two fights in a row. His most recent stoppage over Roberson earned him a “Performance of the Night” bonus.
