Khamzat Chimaev Possibly Planning For October UFC Return

After missing his opportunity to compete on the UFC’s inaugural Saudi Arabia Fight Night card due to illness, it seems he is now planning his next move.

Chimaev was slated to square off in a 5-round main event bout with Robert Whittaker this past weekend from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. But, with the Chechen fighter’s last minute removal from the card, “The Reaper” instead found himself squaring off with, and knocking out, Ikram Aliskerov in the headlining bout.

Now, it appears Chimaev has decided that he will plan for an October return, and hopefully find himself competing at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi.

Obviously, nothing has been announced for sure with regard to Chimaev’s return, and it is even noted that this depends on his condition and recovery from the illness that took him out of last weekend’s main event.

“Borz” has a perfect professional record of 13-0, with 7 of those victories taking place inside the UFC Octagon. Most recently, he defeated former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at 185-pounds by way of a majority decision.
