Khamzat Chimaev Scheduled Vs. Gilbert Burns At UFC 273
The biggest test for UFC’s newly rising star, Khamzat Chimaev, will be held at UFC 273.
He will share the octagon with former title challenger Gilbert Burns and will get the chance of getting closer to a title shot. UFC President Dana White confirmed that it is happening at UFC 273 on April 9.
Chimaev’s only barrier was visa problems.
Burns is one of the most talented fighters in the division with his massive grappling and fight with his striking.
His latest fight was against one of the best strikers, Stephen Thompson (16-6-0). In his latest eight fights, Burns suffered defeat only against Kamaru Usman in a title fight. He defeated Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley in 2020.
Chimaev is an undefeated fighter with a 100% finishing rate.
He has six knockouts and four submission victories in his professional MMA record, and as an amateur, he was 3-0.
In the UFC, he held four fights, earned two submissions and two knockout victories. His latest victory was against Jingliang Li (18-7-0), where Chimaev earned another first-round finish.
