Khan-Crawford On-Weight For MSG

Champion and challenger on on-weight for this Saturday, as Amir Khan and Terence Crawford took to the scale one day before Crawford defended his WBO welterweight title at Madison Square Garden.

Crawford would walk in slightly heavier than Khan on Friday, with the champion walking on to the scale at 146.4 pounds and Khan at 146, both below the 147-pound limit.

“This means everything to me and my career. I’ve worked very hard for this,” Khan said to ESPN. “The Canelo fight, you know, I was doing well in the fight. He was just too big, physically. This is my opportunity. This is my time. I’m gonna grab it with both hands.”

“Virgil Hunter has given me a great game plan to follow. I have to stick to that throughout the whole fight. I have to be one step ahead of him.”

Asked about Khan’s strengths, Terence Crawford said, “He’s fast, he boxes real well, he’s got good legs.”

“I want to put on a great performance,” Crawford said. “I’m just ready to go out there and display my talent.”
