Khan Hopes Pacquiao Fight Will Be “Capper”

Three months after a controversial loss to Terence Crawford, Amir Khan is getting back in the ring, as he will face India’s Neeraj Goyat for the first ever battle between an Indian fighter and a Pakistani, on July 12th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Khan was set to fight current WBA “regular” welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao in the middle east a few years ago, but the investors would fall through.

“I’d love to do that fight. It’s one of the reasons I’ve take the fight as I know there’s a bigger picture,” Khan told reporters at a media workout in Bolton, England.

“There’s always talk about Manny and there has been more talk about it lately.”

“Lets hope he wins against Thurman, I win against Goyat and we can move forward front there,” Khan said of a potential showdown. “I have this fight and then it could be Manny, that would be a great way to finish.

“I’m not taking my eye off Goyat though, I know that I can’t be complacent and I need to beat him.”
