Khan To Face Billy Dib After Goyat Car Crash
The chance to see an Indian fighter and a Pakistani fighter square off in Saudi Arabia was put on hold this week, as Amir Khan’s July 12th opponent has been changed.
Khan, who is traveling to Saudi Arabia next month to fight for the WBC Pearl title, was set to face Neeraj Goyat for the newly made title, but Goyat was pulled this week due to severe injuries suffered in a car accident.
“We are very sad to inform that Neeraj Goyat, who was preparing for his mega fight against Amir Khan, met with a car accident last night that has caused him severe injuries on his head, face and left arm. He is currently in hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery,” Bill Dosanjh, Promoter of the Super Boxing League, said in a statement.
Now, Khan will face former featherweight champion Billy Dib, who last fought earlier this year at 130 pounds against an opponent with a 7-11 record.

Khan, who last fought at Welterweight in April against world champion Terence Crawford, compared the size differential to when he moved up to middleweight to fight Canelo Alvarez in 2016… When he was knocked out by Alvarez and would not fight again for nearly two years.
Khan-Dib will headline a card from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on July 12th.
