Khan Undergoes Right Elbow Surgery

Former light-welterweight champion and middleweight and welterweight title challenger Amir Khan recently had surgery on his right elbow.

Khan challenged WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford last month in the main event of a Top Rank pay-per-view card at New York’s Madison Square Garden. He was stopped in the sixth round while receiving time to recover from a low blow.

Addressing a social media audience, Khan said he experienced pain during the fight but expects to only be out of action for 3-4 weeks.

Khan previously stated he plans a return to the ring in either October or November and feels a showdown with British rival Kell Brook is still possible.
