Kisenosato Dashes Hakuho’s Title Hopes

Hakuho saw his tournament title hopes take a hit after familiar foe Kisenosato defeated the yokozuna at the Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament Tuesday, November 22. Hakuho is now two wins behind sole leader and fellow Mongolian yokozuna Kakuryu with five days left of the 15-day tournament at Fukuoka Kokusai Center.

Kakuryu stays unbeaten at 10-0, and is now one win clear of Mongolian yokozuna Harumafuji and Ishiura. Goeido, who was hoping to achieve rank of yokozuna, saw his chances disappear after suffering a third loss in the tournament. Goeido, however did achieve a feel good win over Kotoshogiku.
