‘Korean Zombie’ To Undergo Eye Surgery

Earlier this morning at UFC Busan, Chan Sung Jung knocked out Frankie Edgar in the first round of the main event. It took about three minutes for “The Korean Zombie” to get his second win in a row. He requested a title opportunity after, calling out Alexander Volkanovski, the current UFC Featherweight Champion.

Unfortunately, we may have to wait a while for Jung’s (16-5) next move. During the UFC Busan post-fight press conference, “The Korean Zombie” stated he will need eye surgery to fix an issue that has been plaguing him for a while.

“Those that follow me on Instagram might know, but currently I have an eye condition that makes me see double,” Jung stated, via MMA Fighting. “Right now, everyone in this room, I’m seeing double of everything. I have double vision. It’s not a huge, major surgery, but is still gonna take about a couple, three months to recover.”

It is unknown when this be became a problem for Jung. He later stated he hopes to be back inside the octagon around May or June. This isn’t the first time  something like this has delayed his career, as Jung has dislocated his shoulder, among other injuries.

Since completing mandatory military service in 2016, “The Korean Zombie” has gone 3-1, and is on a two-fight winning streak. He knocked out Renato Moicano back in June before beating Edgar in South Korea.
