Kowalkiewicz To Undergo Eye Surgery On Thursday

Working on a plan to come back stronger than ever, Karolina Kowalkiewicz will start with her eye.

On her instagram story, Kowalkiewicz (12-6) revealed that she has limited movement in her right eye. She previously announced she couldn’t see anything during her bout at UFC Aukland against Yan Xiaonan. Losing via unanimous decision, Karolina broke a bone below her right eye in the first round of the contest.

“Hey guys, thanks for your support. First time in my life after fight, I cannot say I’m OK,” Karolina stated after the fight. “Like you see, in the beginning of the first round I have broken small bone here {below the eye). I couldn’t see nothing. My vision was double and everything was like in the fog.”

In an update, Karolina stated she will be undergoing surgery on Thursday. She will be out a few months after getting a titanium plate inserted in the area. You can check out the full video via Reddit.

Kowalkiewicz has now lost four in a row, her last win coming against Felice Herrig in 2018.
