Kownacki Opponent Set For March Return
While it seemed Domonic Breazeale was the man to try and stop Adam Kownacki on March 7th, a different heavyweight will be standing across from the popular Polish puncher.
Per a report from Boxing Scene, Kownacki’s March return to Barclays Center will not be against Breazeale or another rumored opponent Christian Hammer, but against Finland’s Robert Helenius.
While FOX, who is set to broadcast the fight from Brooklyn, New York still needs to approve the fight, all signs indicate that Helenius will face off against Kownacki in the latter’s fifth straight fight in the venue.
Helenius was reportedly working on a deal to fight former world champion Joseph Parker on the undercard of Mikey Garcia and Jessie Vargas’ fight from the Ford Center at The Star on February 29th.
Kownacki was last seen in the ring back in August of 2019 when he defeated Chris Arreola by unanimous decision and passed up a chance to be on the Fury-Wilder PPV undercard to have his own spotlight fight on FOX.
