Ladd-McMann Rumored For June UFC Event
The UFC is starting to think ahead when it comes to fights. As a result, an important bantamweight bout is reportedly set for June.
According to MMA Junkie, Aspen Ladd will look to face off against Sarah McMann on June 27. Dubbed UFC on ESPN 11, the card was originally set for the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas before the coronavirus pandemic postponed those plans.
Ladd (8-1) is coming off of a TKO-win over Yana Kunitskaya back in December. It was a rebound after losing to Germaine de Randamie last July, a bout that earned de Randamie a shot at UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. Ranked third in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings, a win could shoot Ladd up to the top of the list.
Ranked ninth in the bantamweight rankings, McMann (12-5) is also on a one-fight win streak. She beat Lina Lansberg via unanimous decision back in January. The win ended a two-fight losing streak. In six fights she is 4-2.
There is no main event or location set yet for the event. Florida has been hosting several shows recently, and Arizona is an option, according to Dana White.
Here is the rumored card for June 27:
- Aspen Ladd v. Sarah McMann
- Viviane Araujo v. Jennifer Maia
- Alexa Grasso v. Ji Yeon Kim
