Lara Vs. Alvarez Weigh-In Marred By Chaos
After struggling to make 154-pounds, Ramon Alvarez will no longer have the chance to become a world champion on Saturday night.
Taking to the scale on Friday afternoon, his opponent, Erislandy Lara would step to the scale at 153.75 pounds, while the Mexico native came in nearly five pounds over the limit at 158.6 pounds.
Where are you, Ramon? 🧐

Their scheduled fight set for The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 31st is still a go, but the fight airing on Fox will only see Lara being able to walk out of the Twin Cities with the WBA “regular” super welterweight title.
Per Boxing Scene, Alvarez was over an hour late to the weigh-in after an attempt to shed the extra four pounds, but was to no avail.
