Leandro Higo Needs A New Opponent For Bellator 241

One of Bellator’s biggest events of the year has hit a bit of a snag.

Bantamweight Johnny Campbell is out of his fight against Leandro Higo in Uncasville, CT due to an injury. Bellator is currently looking for a replacement for Campbell. MMAFighting were the first to report the news.

This would have been Campbell’s (20-12, 1NC) first Bellator fight after stopping four opponents in a row.

Higo (19-5) last fought in September, beating Shawn Bunch via submission. It ended a two-fight skid against Darrion Caldwell and Aaron Pico. The former bout was for the Bellator Bantamweight Championship. It is unsure who would step up to face Higo.

Bellator 241 takes place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena on March 13. The main event is a quarter-final bout of the Featherweight Grand Prix. Patricio Freire, Higo’s teammate, will put his Featherweight Title on the line against Pedro Carvalho. The co-main event will be another Featherweight Grand Prix quarter-final bout in Daniel Weichel v. Emmanuel Sanchez.
