Lennox Lewis Speaks On Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr.

Lennox Lewis has weighed in on the exhibition showdown between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.

Tyson and Jones are set to collide on Saturday night, November 28. It’ll be held inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Tyson vs. Jones is scheduled for eight two-minute rounds.

Lewis, who holds a knockout win over Tyson, chimed in on the matchup between “Iron” Mike and Jones during an interview with BT Sport (via BoxingScene.com).

“I think it’s an interesting fight. They’re doing it for charity – that’s a good thing. I didn’t feel like we’d ever see Mike Tyson back in the ring. I thought he was very happy doing his other businesses around the world, being a movie star.

“Everybody loves Mike Tyson. Everybody loves Roy Jones. They just want to see them in the ring again. It’s not a bad thing. At this age I actually think it’s good that he can push himself to step back into the ring.”

The California State Athletic Commission is sanctioning the Tyson vs. Jones event. When it comes to the exhibition bout, no official winner will be determined and knockouts aren’t allowed. Despite this, the WBC has appointed three remote judges and will be awarding a specially made Frontline Battle Title by the end of the night.
