Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad Set For March 13
Leon Edwards has a new opponent for March 13.
Edwards was expected to share the Octagon with Khamzat Chimaev next month. It ultimately won’t happen as Chimaev hasn’t fully recovered from COVID-19. The good news for Edwards is that the UFC has quickly found a replacement opponent.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reports that Belal Muhammad will be stepping up to take on Edwards in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card on March 13.

This will be a quick turnaround for Muhammad, who competed on February 13. He defeated Dhiego Lima via unanimous decision. This was Muhammad’s fourth straight victory.
Edwards is riding an eight-fight winning streak. He hasn’t suffered a loss since December 2015. That defeat was at the hands of current UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.
The one question weighing heavily on the minds of fight fans and experts is, how will Leon Edwards perform following inactivity? Edwards hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon since July 2019. If he does indeed fight on March 13, it would be his first fight in roughly one year and eight months.
