Lester Martinez Vs. Raiko Santana Booked For Thursday, October 14

Lester Martinez has been scheduled a fight against former amateur standout Raiko Santana.

The 10-round bout will go down at the Auditorio Benito Juarez in Zapopan, Mexico.

If Martinez beats Juarez, he may inch another step closer to the contender status. The 25-year-old unbeaten prospect has won all nine of his fights via KO.

The main event features Manuel Gallegos (18-1, 15 knockouts) and Gabriel Lopez (10-5-1, 7 KOs) in a super middleweight showdown.

Martinez, who’s a Guatemala resident, rose to fame in April 2019, when he stopped former two-weight world titleholder Ricardo Mayorga in two rounds in his pro debut.

He has been on a roll since then.

Martinez has also impressed Guy Taylor, the matchmaker for Roy Jones Jr. Promotions.

“We have been working with Lester and his team since his fourth pro fight and noticed he was quickly becoming a fighter that people were talking about, since seeing him on UFC Fight Pass,” Taylor has told The Ring.

“Sometimes you just have that feeling that you’re seeing a special fighter in front of you and that’s so true in the case of Lester Martinez.”

Nonetheless, Taylor feels that Martinez’s next fight is a tough challenge.
