Letitia Wright To Star In Boxing Drama ‘In The Shadows’, Based On Ramla Ali
Emmy-nominated-actress Letitia Wright has been cast in the lead role for ‘In the Shadows’, a drama that portrays the real-life story of Ramla Ali.
The movie narrates the journey of a girl named Ali, who escaped the civil war in Somalia with her family and sought refuge in London.
Despite knowing that her family would not support her, she continued to pursue her passion for boxing as she became a national and British champion.

Wright’s Comments
It’s an incredible honor to portray Ramla. Not only is she an incredible woman of strength, dedication and perseverance, but her journey will impact many lives and I’m excited for audiences to experience her story,” Wright said
Ali also created history by becoming the first Somali boxer to represent her country at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Thereafter, she earned the IBF Intercontinental title in the super-bantamweight division. To top it off, Time magazine recognized her outstanding achievements by naming her one of their 2023 Women of the Year.
