Liam Smith has dismissed Chris Eubank Jr.’s comments that the pair will face each other on September 2nd, 2023, for a rematch.
Eubank Jr. had seemingly confirmed that the rematch was on with the following post, thus removing any doubts over a fight with Conor Benn.

Eubank had suffered a fourth-round TKO defeat against Smith in a bout where the manner of the defeat raised many questions.
Prior to that, Eubank Jr. was on track to fight Benn at a 157 lb catchweight, but Benn’s two positive tests for Clomiphene put an end to that.
Although there were talks of a possible fight between Benn and Eubank Jr. in Abu Dhabi, those discussions had not gotten anywhere, with suggestions that Smith was the next opponent.
And yet, the latter has denied being aware of any such agreement.
“It’s nice he’s found his phone and his voice. I’ve not heard anything, any confirmation about that. I was told today he’s fighting Conor Benn,” Smith
With that being said, there are still a few hurdles to overcome. Benn was suspended by UKAD, pending an investigation, which rules out any such bout with Eubank Jr.
Meanwhile, the rematch between Eubank and Smith has already been called off on two occasions due to the latter having suffered injuries.
As such, boxing fans have been left none the wiser.
