Liam Smith Vs. Chris Eubank Jr. 2 Postponed Again

Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr.’s rematch has reportedly been postponed.

The rematch was exercised by Eubank Jr. when he suffered a fourth-round TKO loss in January. But ever since that moment, the attempts to get the fight made have suffered mishaps.

It was initially set to go ahead on June 17th, 2023, only for that to be called off as Smith suffered an injury. The date was then moved to July 1st, 2023. But once again, Smith has suffered a ‘niggling injury.’

Despite this being the case, the rest of the card will go ahead. The pick of the fights will be a world title bout between super-middleweight champion Franchin Crews-Dezurn and Savannah Marshall.

As for Eubank Jr, the news is the last thing he needed after admitting that he had turned down a multi-million offer to fight Conor Benn in order to settle the score with Smith.

With that being said, the fight cannot come soon enough, as even Smith has been left disappointed.

“I’m gutted and sorry to all the fans about the postponement. I’ve always said a fully fit Liam Smith beats Chris Eubank Jr every time.

“I tried training through because I was desperate not to let anyone down, but I’ve had to withdraw from the bout in July following the latest medical assessment this week. I’ll heal up now and then be fully fit for later in the summer,” Smith said
