Liam Smith Vs. Chris Eubank Jr. Rematch Confirmed For September 2nd
Liam Smith’s rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. has now been officially confirmed for September 2nd, 2023, from the AO Arena, Manchester.
The defeat suffered by Eubank Jr. in the first bout left many questioning the circumstances of the loss.
The fourth-round TKO defeat demonstrated a vulnerability in Eubank’s chin for the first time in his career.
Despite discussions of a potential bout between Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn, the latter is navigating his UKAD suspension following two failed tests for Clomiphene.
This led to suggestions that Smith would be the next opponent.

However, Smith initially denied this: “It’s nice he’s found his phone and his voice. I’ve not heard anything, any confirmation about that. I was told today he’s fighting Conor Benn,” Smith
But now that those hurdles have been resolved, both fighters were keen to get the fight on.
“I’m glad that the date is set now, and we can look forward to getting rid of this itch that needs scratching. I’m fully healed up, injury-free, and looking forward to finishing Chris Eubank Jr’s career on September 2,” Smith
“No more excuses, no more postponements. Smith can’t run forever. September 2 is the day of my revenge,” Eubank Jr.
