Lightweight Prospect Keyshawn Davis Bashes Gervonta Davis’ Resume-‘Let’s Be Real, When Is He Going To Fight Somebody?’

Keyshawn Fires Shots At Davis

Lightweight prospect Keyshawn Davis has called out Gervonta Davis‘ calibre of opposition, being perplexed as to why he has not fought tougher opponents.

Davis does have some credible names, though. Victory against Mario Barrios, who was undefeated at the time, showed Tank belonged amongst the big names.

Meanwhile, Isaac Cruz’s ruggedness was praised, as the former was linked to big-money fights involving Shakur Stevenson at one point following the WBC’s mandate.

However, according to Keyshawn, Davis – who has 28 wins and 26 knockouts – has only faced one notable opponent, Jose Pedraza. And an upcoming potential fight with Ryan Garcia has been well overdue.

In an interview with Fight Hype, he said: “Yes, his record is not great. If you look at the whole landscape of 135 right now, you tell me how great it is. Let’s be real.

“Now certain things does, ‘Hey, that was great.’ How he knocked Leo Santa Cruz out; that was crazy. That’s great, okay. Mario Barrios, moving up to go to 140, knock him out. Okay, that’s great. But he’s creating his own narrative. When is he going to fight somebody?”

But this may be all about to change. Following Tank’s parting with Mayweather Promotions, Davis has the chance to take more control over his career.

With that being said, should he overcome Garcia if that fight goes ahead, names such as Vasyl Lomachenko, George Kambosos Jr and Shakur are just some of those potentially on Tank’s hit list.
