Lipinets-Broner Possible This Fall

In his first fight at welterweight, Sergey Lipinets would take a decision victory over Erik Bone, and may have his eyes set on bigger competition later this year.

The fight with Bone was Lipinets’ first fight since losing to Mikey Garcia in March of this year, and is looking to bounce back against an upper-tier opponent.

Alex Vaysfeld, Lipinets’ manager, claimed that  a November showdown with four division world champion Adrien Broner could be in the works.

“The next fight will be in November. We are negotiating the details, possibly it could be Broner,” Vaysfeld said.

Broner would return to the ring for the first time since a draw against Jessie Vargas at Barclays Center in April. A potential rematch was in the works, but Vargas would decide to sign with promoter Eddie Hearn to compete on the new streaming service, DAZN.
