Loeffler Blasts Reporters Over GGG Rumors
Three boxing journalists were taken to task on Monday by Gennady Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler, as rumors circulated that the two ended their business relationship.
It began when Dan Rafael answered a reader’s question on Twitter regarding what network Golovkin would be signing with, after the reports indicated he’d make a decision prior to the new year.
Rafael wrote that Loeffler was not with “(Golovkin) anymore” and
He obviously didn’t. And that was Loeffler saying he would and he is not with him anymore.

Loeffler would reply minutes later after getting wind of Rafael’s tweet, saying Golovkin is calling Rafael’s claims “yellow journalism.”
Dan, @GGGBoxing told me today that this is yellow journalism and not to say anything about him or his career without a direct quote from him or myself. Highly irresponsible to write something like this, people now using your tweet to write full articles based on false information https://t.co/ZfU6OYivd2

In another two tweets, he hit back at Mike Coppinger of The Ring and PBC on Fox writer Mark Ortega for similar claims.
Mike, stop your speculation on @GGGBoxing career and wait for some #news. Please don’t reference GGG personal life on social media, he keeps his family and boxing life completely separate. Show him some #respect and wait until when we have something official to announce https://t.co/0IKYEKZPmP

Mark, You are posting the same false information as other “media”. Monkey see Monkey do. Check your #facts before posting or just call me. Ward lost 3 times when trying to break his contract with his promoter. @ceegoose @TGBpromotions will be happy to remind you #boxing https://t.co/x4rjrYI8yJ

Speaking with Michael Woods of Bad Left Hook, Loeffler confirmed he is still guiding Golovkin’s career and that there is nothing to report until the former unified world champion makes his decision, which Abel Sanchez claimed to Woods would be the third week of January.
