Lomachenko Offered World Title Fight

Vasiliy Lomachenko’s (18-3, 12 KOs) decision to return to boxing has already opened the door to an immediate world title fight against WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster (23-3-0, 12 KOs).

Just days after reports surfaced that the former three-division champion is planning a comeback later this year, Foster has publicly offered him the first shot at his belt at 130 pounds.

“I would give him the opportunity. I can be the first one he comes to see. I’ll send him back to where he needs to be. If you’re coming back, let’s get it done. I got the title, and I’ll put it up. We can make it happen,” Foster

Lomachenko, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, retired after stopping George Kambosos Jr. to win the IBF lightweight title in May 2024, citing a lack of motivation. His manager, Egis Klimas, has since confirmed the Ukrainian has reversed that decision.

The 38-year-old previously held the WBO super featherweight title before moving up to lightweight, where he unified three major world championships. A return at 130 pounds would put him straight back into the title picture, and Foster has moved quickly to stake his claim.
