Lomachenko Opens Up About His Lopez Loss – ‘I Can’t Change’
Vasiliy Lomachenko opened up about his mindset following his loss to Teofimo Lopez as he gears himself up to face Devin Haney on May 20th, 2023.
Lopez dominated the Ukrainian with a unanimous-decision win, even if there were suggestions that Lomachenko may have had a shoulder issue.
And in the process, Lomachenko suffered his second loss. But rather than fall by the wayside, he has managed to work his up to a title shot once again.
“After the Lopez loss, I could have gone down (in weight) and fight. But I can’t because I lose at lightweight. Lightweight took my dream, took my goal. I can’t change,” Lomachenko
That mentality was shown in his performances since the Lopez loss. Victories over Masayoshi Nakatani, Richard Commey and Jamaine Ortiz followed to put Loma on the brink once again.
So the question remaining this time is can he deliver?

Haney thinks he has won already. Could be in for a very rude awakening. 🤔🤷🏽♂️

Kambosos wasn’t a mediocre champion & Haney wasn’t just 2 good. Styles made that fight look the way it did. I truly believe this fight will be more harder for Haney than He & everyone else believes. Ortiz was also just better than what everyone thought.
