Lomachenko Still Plans August Return
Even though he just underwent shoulder surgery, Vasyl Lomachenko is planning to return to the ring on August 25th.
Lomachenko, the current WBA lightweight champion would take to Instagram on Monday, and let the world know he’s coming back next month.
His Doctor, Dr. Neal Elattrache, indicated Lomachenko wouldn’t be able to resume training until October after an arthroscopic surgery in late May.
That timetable would’ve allowed Lomachenko to box again at some point in December. Bob Arum, Lomachenko’s promoter, reserved December 8 as the date for Lomachenko’s return once he had surgery.
Lomachenko suffered the injury in the second round of his TKO win over Jorge Linares on May 12th at Madison Square Garden.
Lomachenko was tentatively scheduled to fight again August 25 at The Forum in Inglewood, California, potentially against WBO lightweight champion, Ray Beltran.
