Eddie Hearn’s masterpiece is almost complete. In just a few short days, “Matchroom Fight Camp” will make its debut, and with it, the return of Matchroom Boxing.
Set to take place in the backyard of Matchroom’s UK offices, the 15-acre land in Brentwood, Essex will host some of the top fights in boxing today. From August 1 to August 22, “Matchroom Fight Camp” will feature local talent from around the United Kingdom and beyond.

Opening up “Fight Camp” on Saturday, August 1 will be Sam Eggington defending his IBF International Super-Welterweight Title against Ted Cheeseman. Eggington (28-6) is on a four-fight win streak dating back to the middle of 2019. His last fight was a retirement-win against Daniel Urbanski in November. He beat Orlando Fiordigiglio for the title in September of last year.
Cheeseman (15-2-1) is 1-2-1 in his last four fights. He lost to Scott Fitzgerald in his last bout in October via unanimous decision following a split decision draw against Kieron Conway.
The undercard features:
- James Tennyson (26-3) v. Gavin Gwynne for the British Lightweight Title
- Jordan Gill (24-1) v. Reece Bellotti (14-3)
- Fabio Wardley (8-0) v. Simon Vallily (17-2-1)
