Ludumo Lamati, the South African boxer who collapsed in the ring during his fight against Nick Ball, is reportedly recovering well.
The 31-year-old was taken out of the ring on a stretcher and slipped into a coma after his corner threw in the towel. However, his condition has shown significant improvement despite the initial grim prognosis.
He was taken to a hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on May 27th, 2023, and was put in a drug-induced coma.
Frank Warren has revealed that Ludomo Lamati suffered a bleed to his brain after the Nick Ball fight, so had an operation and was placed in a medically-induced coma. Warren said they're flying his family over to be there when he is hopefully brought out of the coma. [@IFLTV]

However, Lamati has been making a steady recovery. It is claimed that he was removed from his drug-induced coma a fortnight ago, as per the outlet Sowetan Live.
Lamati’s progress has been remarkable, as the fighter has been moving about and eating, as well as speaking.
And it just so happened that former two-division world champion and fellow countryman Zolani Tete had the chance to visit Lamati, as he had some positive news for the boxing fans.

“They stay with our friend and visit Ludumo twice a day. Ludumo is doing very well; he dresses himself and he is walking although he gets tired quickly. Ludumo is very emotional when he talks to me.
“He keeps saying sorry because he feels he let me down by not winning and that is why I don’t talk to him too much. It affects me because he did not let me down; he fought his best fight,” Tete
