Despite being a large underdog to "King Kong", Scott is not intimidated by Ortiz.
"Is he the most feared? Anyone will fight him but for the right amount of money," Scott said. "He’s a 6ft 4in Cuban southpaw – he’s got a hell of a pedigree, he can fight and he’s dangerous – but that makes me want to fight him. I gravitate to risks like this, because the rewards out there are huge."
Ortiz looked dead-focused on Scott at the weigh-ins, as he will look to put on an impressive performance and set himself up for the bigger fights in the heavyweight division.
After Ortiz fights Scott, he will compete on Dec. 10 on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s title defense against Eric Molina. "King Kong" has said that he has the power and skillset to defeat the top-tier heavyweights like Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko.
"I want to fight the very best and I want to be heavyweight champion of the world," Ortiz said. "I’m willing to fight anyone, any champion, any place, any time. I’m ready for anyone: Joshua, Wilder, Klitschko. I know I can beat all of them."
Ortiz vs. Scott will take place in Monte Carlo on Saturday, Nov. 12.
