Lyoto Machida Wins Second Pro MMA Fight After Doctor Orders Stoppage – September 13, 2003 (This Day In MMA History)

Before Lyoto Machida’s 11 losses, there was a time when his winning streak was untouchable.

Eighteen years ago, Machida earned his first TKO victory via doctor’s stoppage when he finished Stephan Bonnar. It was only the second fight of his professional MMA career.

Machida (26-11) has matched up against known fighters in MMA including Tito Ortiz, Quinton Jackson, Randy Couture, Jon Jones and Vitor Belfort. He dropped contests against Jackson and Jones.
