Machida To Debut At Bellator Honolulu

After signing with Bellator earlier this year, many speculated when former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida would debut in the Bellator cage.

On Wednesday, the Viacom owned MMA brand announced that Machida will debut on December 15th in Bellator’s debut in the state of Hawaii, Honolulu. Machida will face off against former Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho on a card headlined by Hawaii native Ilima-Lei Macfarlane defending her Bellator flyweight title against Valerie Letourneau at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.

“The Dragon” signed with Bellator in June, following a two fight win streak to finish his UFC career after an 11 year run.

Carvalho will be fighting for the first time since losing his middleweight title to Gegard Mousasi and his 15 fight winning streak.

A first round fight in the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix has also been added to the card, as Ed Ruth will take on Neiman Gracie.
