Major Boxing Tripleheader Announced Featuring Juan Francisco Estrada
A massive tripleheader is set for October 23.
Matchroom Boxing has announced its return to Mexico. This time it’s for a tripleheader inside the TV Azteca Studios. Juan Francisco Estrada will defend his WBC Super-Flyweight Title against Carlos Cuadras. Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez will put his WBA Super-Flyweight Championship on the line against Israel Gonzalez. Finally, Julio Cesar Martinez will put his WBC Flyweight Title up for grabs against Maximino Flores.
Estrada is coming off a ninth-round TKO victory over Dewayne Beamon. He is riding a four-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost a bout since February 24, 2018. His opponent, Cuadras, is coming off a majority decision victory over Jose Maria Cardenas.
“Chocolatito” is fresh off a ninth-round TKO victory over Kal Yafai to capture the WBA Super-Flyweight Championship. It was a throwback to the old days for “Chocolatito” before he ran into Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. His opponent, Israel Gonzalez, will look to capture his first major boxing title.
Martinez is coming off his first successful WBC Flyweight Title defense. He defeated Jay Harris via unanimous decision back on February 29.
This boxing tripleheader will air live in the United States on DAZN.
