Major UFC 239 Fight May Move To UFC San Antonio

With UFC 239 featuring a stacked card for international fight week, Luke Rockhold’s return to the Octagon may be delayed for two weeks to headline UFC San Antonio on July 20th.

Initially reported by Kevin Iole, the UFC is looking to move Rockhold’s fight against Jan Blachowicz, set for the UFC 239 main card into a featured or main event spot at UFC on ESPN 4, after an initial rumor that UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko would make a quick turnaround to defend her title against Liz Carmouche, who handed Shevchenko her first pro loss in 2010.

If true, this will mark Rockhold’s debut as a light heavyweight after and his first fight since losing a chance to become interim middleweight champion against Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC 221 in February of 2018.
