Terence Crawford’s next WBO Welterweight Title defense is set.
Mike Coppinger of The Athletic is reporting that Crawford will meet Kell Brook on November 14. The title fight will reportedly air live on the major ESPN network. This will be Crawford’s fourth WBO Title defense.
Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn had been telling reporters that he was pushing for Brook to get a big payday against Crawford. At the time, he said that Top Rank Boxing and Crawford’s team were in agreement and it appears Hearn wasn’t bluffing. Coppinger notes that Crawford will make upwards of $4 million, while Brook will take home about $2 million.
In his last outing, Crawford stopped Egidijus Kavaliauskas in the ninth round via TKO. Kavaliauskas was undefeated going into that title fight. The win improved Crawford’s pro boxing record to 36-0. It was also his 27th win by way of knockout.
As for Brook, he last competed back on October 8, 2019. He scored a seventh-round TKO victory over Mark DeLuca. The victory pushed Brook’s winning streak up to three. He hasn’t suffered a defeat since May 27, 2017, when he was knocked out by Errol Spence Jr. in the 11th round. In his career, Brook has only suffered losses to Spence and Gennadiy Golovkin.
