UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev (28-1) revealed he was the victim of a robbery while traveling through Italy.
The incident follows Makhachev’s appearance at the UEFA Champions League quarter-final in Paris, where he watched PSG secure a 2-0 first-leg lead over Liverpool in their soccer match. Makhachev met PSG player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored a goal, after which he gifted Makhachev his boots.
Just days later, while transitioning through Italy, Makhachev’s suitcase—containing the boots—was stolen. However, Makhachev’s passport was left behind. Makhachev thanked them for not leaving him stranded without travel documents but issued a direct plea for the boots.
“The most valuable thing in the suitcase were the football boots. Thieves, if football isn’t your thing, I’ll take them back,” Makhachev said
