Manny Pacquiao Feels He Can Fight Twice In 2021
Manny Pacquiao thinks it’s doable to have two fights in 2021.
Pacquiao is the WBA (Super) Welterweight Champion. He captured the gold back in July 2019 with his split decision win over Keith Thurman. The victory extended Pacquiao’s winning streak to three.
While Pacquiao is a world champion, he’s also a senator in the Philippines. Those duties have made it so that Pacquiao has to be ruled out of making a return to the ring in the first quarter of 2021.
Fear not, however. Pacquiao told the Daily Tribune that he thinks it’s feasible to fight twice next year.
“We still have sessions in March so there’s no way I am going to fight during that time. I think I can do two (fights) next year.”
One of Pacquiao’s aides, Choi Garcia, discussed the possibility of “PacMan” fighting behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Garcia isn’t sold on Pacquiao having a fight without fans in attendance.
“I just don’t see him fighting without any crowd involvement. He draws energy from the crowd.”
Garcia added that details on Pacquiao’s next fight are simply hearsay at this time.
